Sprinkler Retrofit Project At Coler Hospital
Roosevelt Island, NY
The project comprised of a complete sprinkler installation of the 1950's Coler Hospital building comprising nearly a million sft. The initial task included preparing as-built plans and reflected ceiling plans of the entire building as only rudimentary documents existed. The project has been broken into two phases –
1. infrastructure to set pumps and install valves at all floors for connection during the Fit-out phase of the project.
2. Interior renovation of the spaces includes new ceilings and lighting designs for all corridors, and various specialty spaces, including coordination with a major asbestos abatement program.
This was a fast track project with over twenty phases to move patients while the hospital continued to operate.
