Ranapratap Sagar Dam Atomic Power Project Township

The decision of the Atomic Energy Commission to set up a nuclear power plant at the Ranapratap Sagar Dam near Kota necessitated the creation of a small housing community to meet the residential needs of the people working there. Located to the north of the dam the site featured rolling terrain and due to its proximity to the dam provided easy access to the residents working on the project.
